Assistant Fire Chief – Curt Deaton

Assistant Fire Chief Curt Deaton is responsible for Operations (fire administration, suppression & public safety activities) for the Mooresville Fire & Rescue. Since joining the department in 1996, Deaton has served as Firefighter, Engineer, Captain and Battalion Chief. He was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief in 2001.

Deaton serves in the absence of the Fire Chief and participates with the Fire Chief in the administration of the daily operations of the department. He holds degrees and certifications from Coastal Carolina Community College, the UNC Institute of Government and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Deaton is a member of the North Carolina State Firemen’s Association, North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs, International Association of Fire Chiefs and Iredell County Firefighter’s Association. He is married and has one daughter.
