Fire Code Enforcement

Mooresville Fire & Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) enforces the most recent version of the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code as adopted by the Town Board of Commissioners. As dictated by fire code, the FMO conducts periodic inspections on all structures (except one- and two-family dwellings) and issues fire prevention permits. Permits include public fireworks display permits, blasting permits and others.

FMO staff works closely with the Inspections/Development Plans/Permits Division of the Iredell County Building Standards Department to perform various inspections, review construction documents, and issue certificates of occupancy.
