Fire Chief – Curt Deaton

Fire Chief Curt Deaton serves as the department director for Mooresville Fire-Rescue, as well as the Emergency Management Director for the Town of Mooresville. Since joining the department in 1996, Deaton has served as Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief and Assistant Fire Chief.

Deaton holds degrees and certifications from Coastal Carolina Community College, the UNC Institute of Government and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Deaton is a member of the North Carolina State Firemen’s Association, North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs, International Association of Fire Chiefs and Iredell County Firefighter’s Association. He is married and lives in Mooresville.
