National Night Out Against Crime
On Tuesday, August 4 from 5-9 p.m., the Mooresville Police Department will host “National Night Out” in front of the Charles Mack Citizen Center. This coordinated event unites neighborhoods, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses and local officials in the awareness and fight against crime.
“National Night Out” is designed to: heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals that communities are organized and fighting back against crime. Target Stores is the national sponsor for “National Night Out 2009.”
Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, Mooresville’s “National Night Out” event will include free hotdogs, face painting, children identification kits, bike giveaways, a canned food drive for the Mooresville Christian Mission and much more. Everyone is invited to attend and show their support for a crime-free community.
