Police Staff & Structure


The Mooresville Police Department is led by a Chief of Police and supported by an administrative staff. There are two distinct divisions within the department: Patrol Division and Administration Division.

The Patrol Division and Administration Division are led by Major Bryan Anderson, who also serves as Asst. Chief of Police.

Patrol Division
Within the Patrol Division, there are four squads of police officers and each squad is led by a captain. These officers are responsible for responding to all calls for police service within the Mooresville town limits and engaging in other patrol activities.

The following specialized units are also part of the Patrol Division: Bike Patrol, K-9 Teams, Negotiators, SAFE Team (Narcotics & Traffic Safety Unit, and Special Response Team.

Administration Division
The Administration Division includes the following functions and Units: Communications, Crime Prevention, Criminal Investigations, Maintenance, Public Safety, Records/Property & Evidence, School Resource Officers / D.A.R.E. Officer, and Training & Recruiting.
