The Planning Board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Executive Board Room at Town Hall. Craig Culberson (704-662-7041) is the staff liaison for the Planning Board.

About the Planning Board

The primary function of the Planning Board is to hold public meetings in order to evaluate requests that may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conditional Use Permits
  • Establishment of Zoning
  • Extension of Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ)
  • Land Use Plans
  • Rezoning and Conditional Rezoning
  • Small Area Plans
  • Special Districts or Overlays
  • Text Amendments
  • Transportation Plans
  • Zoning Ordinance

The Planning Board forwards their recommendations for action to the Town Board of Commissioners in regard to the requests listed above.

Appointments

Members of the Planning Board shall be appointed by the Town Board and Iredell County Board of Commissioners for three year terms on a staggered basis. The Planning Board shall consist of nine members. Six members shall be residents of the Town of Mooresville and shall be appointed by the Town Board; three members shall be residents of the extraterritorial area and shall be appointed by the Iredell County Board of Commissions.
